Real Madrid vs. Juventus Champions League final – the most anticipated match of the year – is finally here with the two sides clashing at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff, Wales.
The two teams have proved their mettle all throughout the season and both are entitled to be the best team this year. Real Madrid were crowned the champions last year and if things work out in their favor, they will be retaining the title once again. Juventus on the other hand will be putting in all their strength to avenge their 2014-15 loss to Spanish side Barcelona, with Gigi Buffon looking to cap off an illustrious career with a victory in the one competition that has eluded him at club level.
Cristiano Ronaldo is in a dominating position and has the chance to bring home the trophy second year in a row. Cementing himself as one of the world’s best has never been Ronaldo’s problem. His problem has been his historical status, and becoming one of the few to win back to back European championships would be key in doing so.
Juventus’ defense has been stunning throughout the competition. They’ve conceded only once in six knockout round matches, in the second leg of their semifinal against Monaco, which they won 4-1 on aggregate.
Real have had a slightly more difficult road to the final, beating Napoli, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid along the way. They had a brief scare in the second leg against Atleti, but won 4-2 on aggregate in the end.
The Champions League match between Real Madrid and Juventus will be broadcast live on Fox and the FoxSoccer2Go apps from 2:45 p.m. ET, which you can access with your cable or satellite subscriptions.
This should be a close game between two evenly matched sides. Juve will have their hands full with Real’s high-power attack, but they have the best defense in the competition for a reason.
