Showing its support for fight against AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, Apple has announced the new Product(RED) Beats Solo3 and Pill+ speaker both of which will be going on sale soon.

The two new products carry the Product(RED) branding – a brand that works towards garnering participation of the private sector to raise awareness and funds to help eliminate HIV/AIDS in Africa. The Product(RED) works with major companies including Apple, The Coca-Cola Company, Starbucks, Converse, Electronic Arts, among others to launch products with the Product(RED) branding. Part of the funds received through the sales are used to carry out charity work with Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria being the main recipient of Product(RED) funds.

This is not the first time that Apple is releasing products with the Product(RED) branding. Previously it has released several versions of the iPod, and smart covers for assorted iPads with Product(RED) branding. Apple even shows its supports for the World AIDS Day by organizing company-wide events to mark the day, such as altering the color of the Apple logo in retail stores for the day, or donating 100 per cent of the proceeds of some in-app purchases to the Global Fund.


As far as the two latest products are concerned – the Beats Pill+ and the Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones – both of them are listed on Apple’s website as “coming soon”. Both of them carry prices that are in line with the standard offerings. The Beats Solo3 Wireless Headphones in Citrus Red is priced at $299.95, while the Citrus Red Beats Pill+ is priced at $229.95.
