McLaren unveiled its new McLaren 720S at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show and with it also launched the new online configurator for 720S providing prospective buyers the opportunity to configure their 720S as per their liking.
The configurator comes with three trim levels – Standard, Performance and Luxury. The Luxury level trim offers silver exterior window surrounds, heated and memory sport seats and interior and engine ambient lightning.
The Performance trim level is ultra-lightweight that adds carbon-fiber components to the exterior and interior. From here you can choose from a wide range of interior colors, 34 exterior paints with option pack and individual options or you can also ask McLaren Special Operation to help build a beautiful bespoke car like 720S Velocity.
The five standard paints include white, blue, silver, McLaren Orange, and Storm Grey. Adding seven more colors in the Special category – Aurora Blue, Memphis Red, and Quartz, and eight in the “Elite” class. The Elite class offers a few spectacular choices like Volcano Yellow, Solis, Azores, and Bourbon. Finally, there’s the “MSO Defined” category with 14 choices, including Papaya Spark, Burton Blue, Polaris Blue, Lantana Purple, Fistral Blue, and Mauvine Blue.
After selecting the interior and exterior color you can head to the option where you pick the set of wheels which includes five-twin-spoke sport cast, five-twin-spoke lightweight, and ten-spoke super-lightweight. The standard rims comes with two color variant silver or stealth finish while the lightweight and ten-spoke wheels come in either platinum, titanium liquid metal, or satin diamond cut.
To make the new McLaren 720S lightweight it is built with a Monocage II carbon fiber structure including several body components like the side mirrors, headlamps housings, splitter, front bonnet, engine hood, and diffuser. The car also contains some additional chassis features like the Proactive Chassis Control II active chassis system and active aerodynamics to make the vehicle look stylish and more dynamic.
The new McLaren 720S is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin turbocharged V8 engine producing 720 horsepower, accelerating from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. The car has got some powerful braking system which stops the vehicle from 125 mph in just 4.6 seconds.
For interiors McLaren offers customer the choice between the standard four-speaker audio system or the optional, 12-speaker, Bowers & Wilkins unit. The McLaren Telemetry is also available with laptime function and three cameras. When it comes to safety McLaren doesn’t step back. Safety options include 360-degree park assist, front & rear parking sensors, rear-view camera, a volumetric alarm upgrade, and a vehicle tracking system.
