After Claudio Ranieri was sacked as the manager of Leicester City Football Club, Craig Shakespeare has been at the helms of the club and it seems that the change has delivered with Leicester managing to enter the quarter-finals of Champions league for the first time!
After winning the Premiere League last year, Leicester is on a roll! In the span of three weeks, boys of Leicester City FC have been through misery and potential prodigy. Leicester conjured up the spirit that ought to have been long buried and forgotten. The players yet again added a chapter to their achievement journal by becoming the 24th different side to make it to Champions League quarter-finals behind Arsenal (2010).
Leicester has definitely proved they are capable enough to take on any odds and surge victorious. To reach top 8, Leicester had to play Seville and while previously losing to Seville 2-1, the latest match saw Leicester better Seville with a 2-0 win. Unfortunately for Leicester, they had more possession of the ball and dominated the field but couldn’t convert goals! Leicester is still breathing and holding on and while winning the trophy is far-fetched idea, they desire to work towards it.
Leicester walked out of the field celebrating their 3-2 aggregate win over Seville. Now they have their dream opportunity to be able to play some of Europe’s elite clubs including Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Boruusia and Dortmund.
Leicester is still on the rise so their downfall can be ignored. Their journey has caught everyone’s eye because they successfully demolished existing football myths. It seems that these dark horses do not believe in giving up while they firmly believe in encores!
