A new smart thermostat is in town – the ecobee3 lite – that is $80 cheaper than rival products but still delivers to its fullest in terms of comfort, control and energy savings.
The ecobee3 lite features a beautiful and easy to use touchscreen interface and the company claims that it will save you enough money that the ecobee3 lite effectively pays for itself in less than a year. The smart thermostat will be available for purchase across North America on October 31, 2016.
Ecobee has been around since 2007 and soon after the release of its first products, the company managed to secure quite a huge userbase owing to the beautiful design, superior comfort and an intuitive customer experience they had on offer. Year after year it launched refined products and ecobee3 struck the right chord with almost all users and garnered rave reviews.
Building up on the success of ecobee3, the company announced ecobee3 lite for those who wanted ecobee3 but couldn’t get it to fit in their budget. ecobee3 lite also integrates with Amazon Echo, Apple HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings and IFTTT.
ecobee3 lite is designed to be compatible with 95 percent of residential heating and cooling systems in North America and does not require a C-wire when using the included Power Extender Kit. The ecobee3 lite launch is accompanied by a new mobile application from ecobee, which will be available on Apple and Android devices. The application includes a new Installation Wizard, providing homeowners with step-by-step installation support and videos in the palm of their hand.
ecobee3 lite will be available for purchase from October 31, 2016 for $169 in the U.S. exclusively at Home Depot stores and online at Amazon.com, HomeDepot.com, BestBuy.com and ecobee.com. In Canada, the device will be available exclusively on ecobee.com for $219 (CAD). Utilities are also making rebates available to customers to save even more.
