The Genovation Extreme Electric (GXE), which recently set a world record of 205.6 mph speed, will now enter a limited production run of 75 units with each costing a whopping $750,000, the custom carmaker has revealed.
Based on the Corvette C7, the Genovation Extreme Electric is a street legal all-electric vehicle featuring the same electric powertrain re-engineered for a C7 Grand Sport Corvette. Genovation revealed in a press note that the GXE has a range of 130 miles during normal driving operation with a near 50/50 weight distribution and is optimized for a low center of gravity.
The startup in the custom carmaking scene has been working towards developing all-electric variants of top of the line cars by building battery management system, inverters, batteries and electric motors. Genovation combined all these components in the GXE, the end result being a powerful all-electric concept that delivers 660+ hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. Genovation has said that only 75 units of GXE will be produced with each vehicle being unique based on the preferences of the buyer.
If you do have $750,000 to spare and intend to buy one, you will have to put down a deposit of $250,000 as well as a lot of trust in the company as the first units will not be delivered until Q4 of 2019 after a 2-year design period and 1 year build time.
“We are very proud of what we have accomplished with the GXE thus far, pushing the limits for electric-powered cars beyond what most people thought was possible”, said Andrew Saul, CEO of Genovation. “We are excited to enter the next phase and begin offering this extraordinary vehicle to discerning customers.” Check out the video below:
