Surface Pro 4 discount has reached new heights with as much as $585 being knocked off the top-end variant – Surface Pro 4 with 1TB storage, 16 GB RAM and Intel Core i7e processor.
The discount has been spotted on Amazon.com and to be honest the price cut on the top-end Surface Pro 4 (currently available for just $2,113.98) is the most we have seen so far ever since its launch. Just one step lower than this variant is the Surface Pro 4 powered by Intel Core i7 featuring 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage and this particular variant is being sold for $1,828.94 after a discount of $370.06 which is also impressive. If you don’t want to opt for the powerful Surface Pro 4 variants, the one with 256 GB storage, 16 GB RAM and Intel Core i7e is being sold for $1,538.89 after a discount of $260.11. The price cuts are seemingly a result of a recent announcement by Microsoft that it is going to hold an event on October 26 and while the event seems to be all about Windows 10, chances are that we might see some hardware. There have been reports of a Surface Pro 5 for quite some time now, but it is highly unlikely that Microsoft will release a new tablet even though a refresh is due. Having said that the price cuts on Amazon could be hinting towards a Surface Pro 5 announcement.
Reports including one from ZDNet suggest that Microsoft will be talking more about Windows 10 and less about hardware with the focus primarily on Windows 10 Redstone 2 update. Once the software talk is done, there could be a couple of hardware announcement, but mostly it will be OEM hardware and chances of Surface devices are low. OEMs have been waiting for Intel’s seventh generation processors and now as they are out, they could show off a few hybrids, all-in-ones and notebooks powered by the latest processor and Windows 10.
